Dr. David :

This is Dr. David

Dr. David :

the shingles most likely is not related with the blood in your stool.

Dr. David :

if you have constipation or large hard stools, this can cause internal hemorrhoids to bleed and cause blood.

Dr. David :

do you have constipation?

JACUSTOMER-ssum634e- : No not constipated
Dr. David :

I see.

Dr. David :

well, you need to see a doctor to get this blood evaluated on your stool.

Dr. David :

you can get your stool checked for blood.

Dr. David :

and if blood is found, you might need a colonoscopy .

JACUSTOMER-ssum634e- : How long can I expect the shingles to last ?
Dr. David :

shingles can last for several weeks.

JACUSTOMER-ssum634e- : Not painfull, just itchy. Small patch of red spots on lower back
Dr. David :

you can talk to your doctor about antiviral medications which can help shorten your shingles infection.

Dr. David :

are you sure this is shingles?

JACUSTOMER-ssum634e- : So blood I. Stool not a symptom or affect of shingles
Dr. David :

shingles tends to be very painful

Dr. David :

you might have a fungal infection on your skin or eczema on your skin.

Dr. David :

shingles does not cause blood in the stools.

JACUSTOMER-ssum634e- : I'm positive it's shingles.... I had someone take a look.
JACUSTOMER-ssum634e- : The blood in stool was a shock today
Dr. David :

I see.

Dr. David :

well you can take acyclovir to help shorten the shingles infection.

JACUSTOMER-ssum634e- : Thank you
