Dr. David :

This is Dr. David

Dr. David :

I can give you some information to include in your report,

Dr. David :

but I can not write the report for you

Dr. David :

are you in a radiology technologist school?

Dr. David :

when is the assignment due by?

Dr. David :

is the fracture to be a simple fracture or compound fracture?

Dr. David :

is there suppose to be orthopedic surgery intervention?

JACUSTOMER-vawnykch- :

no orthopedic surgeon required. the assignment is due tmrw. and yes radiology school. it is to be a closed fracture that wont require surgery

Dr. David :

what parts of the assignment do you have questions on.

Dr. David :

again, we can help answer questions about your assignment, but we can't write the whole report for you.

JACUSTOMER-vawnykch- :

how you would word it on a report. and the type of xray

Dr. David :

you would need an AP (anterior posterior view of the forearm) and lateral view

Dr. David :

this is a website with good information on the AP view of the forearm

Dr. David :

http://www.wikiradiography.com/page/Forearm+-+AP

JACUSTOMER-vawnykch- :

thank you so it would be an AP scan. when you do the findings how would that be worded?

Dr. David :

findings would be a proximal third fracture of the radial bone and ulna.

Dr. David :

there is good alignment of the bones on AP and lateral view

Dr. David :

there is no soft tissue injury.

JACUSTOMER-vawnykch- :

the history would read fell down stairs and tenderness to elbow??

Dr. David :

tenderness of the forearm.

Dr. David :

severe pain.

Dr. David :

and sometimes numbness of the hand.

Dr. David :

also inability to rotate or turn the forearm

Dr. David :

so no supination and no pronation

Dr. David :

supination is rotation so your palm can hold a bowl of soup

Dr. David :

pronation is rotation so your palm is down.

Dr. David :

so inability for both supination and also pronation.

Dr. David :

does this help

JACUSTOMER-vawnykch- :

YES IT DOES THANKYOU

Dr. David :

you are welcome

Dr. David :

do you have other questions?

Dr. David :

this is another good website

Dr. David :

http://orthoinfo.aaos.org/topic.cfm?topic=a00039

JACUSTOMER-vawnykch- :

SO IT WOULD BE A STRAIGHT AP XRAY

Dr. David :

no, a lateral xray is also needed of the forarm.

Dr. David :

and a lateral xray is also needed of the elbow.

Dr. David :

http://www.wikiradiography.com/page/Elbow+-+Lateral

Dr. David :

to check for elbow dislocation.

Dr. David :

because with forarm fractures you have to check for elbow dislocation.

Dr. David :

and a wrist xray is also need to check for wrist fractures.

Dr. David :

because with forearm fractures you can have wrist fractures.

Dr. David :

do you have other questions.

JACUSTOMER-vawnykch- :

NO THANK YOU
