I have been experiencing depression and anxiety for a very long time. My depression intensified during ages 11-12 and has been continuing for quite some time. I used to have terrible dreams that plagued me. Things like falling through literal time and space, or looking up into the sky and seeing three moons similar to mars. Every time I woke up from those dreams I had an intense feeling of fear and desperation. I had my first anxiety attack when I was around 11 years old and back then I did not understand what it was. I grew up in a strict family and worked very hard from a young age. I did not spend a lot of time with friends or family. I spend a lot of time alone reading and writing stories, drawing and singing. Now I am older and I feel futile, like I will die before I will find out the meaning of life and why I am here (even though I am a mother with 2 children). I recently had a panic attack/mental breakdown because I feel intense despair. I have tried anti-depressants, but they do not help. I know I have anxiety, but if I removed all my problems, I still feel this angst. What is wrong with me?
