I'm getting short lived -5 seconds - dizzy spells, and when the spell happens, control of right hand/arm is reduced; several times a day, for the last week or so

Do you have any risk factors for stroke like high blood pressure, smoking, etc?

I am taking medication for high blood pressure, together with a statin and a blood thinner; my blood pressure is reasonably well controlled

You do have some risk factors. Blood pressure, cholesterol etc

This increases risk of stroke and your symptoms are consistent with a stroke

You need to see a doctor as soon as possible

If you can, I would go to A and E now to get checked. This is very serious.
