I rarely drank before, but in the last month I drank several

Resolved Question:

I rarely drank before, but in the last month I drank several times because of stressful situations. I usually don't exceed the three beers. Yesterday, however, I had only two and this caused me an hangover extremely stronger than other times. Today I felt fatigued and tired all the day, irritated by sounds and depressed. Is it normal all of this for just two beers? Does it mean I have problems with my liver?

My liver was checked in the past in several occasions, but everything was fine (both blood parameters and ultrasound scan). They just found gilbert Syndrome.
My other blood tests were normal too (blood count etc)

So, does it look a normal reaction or it looks like I may have some problems?

Dr. Shahzad MD :

welcome

Customer:

hi

Dr. Shahzad MD :

I do not think that your fatigue or irritation or transient depression is anything to worry about and should go away in sometime.

Dr. Shahzad MD :

It may be related to the two beers that you took. Although its UNLIKELY to happen with a couple of beers in the vast majority of people but can happen in some people.

Dr. Shahzad MD :

If however these symptoms persist then you should be seen for this.

Customer:

so, does it simply mean I'm more sensible to aschool?

Dr. Shahzad MD :

Yes, this could very well mean that you are more sensitive to alcohol.

Dr. Shahzad MD :

Are you with me?

Customer:

is it because I never drank before or because of other reasons?

Dr. Shahzad MD :

Yes most likely because you never drank before.

Customer:

is it true that if I just drink with moderation, like a glass of wine a day, it is healthy?

Dr. Shahzad MD :

Its said to be healthy but we as doctors do not recommend that.

Customer:

ok

Dr. Shahzad MD :

any more questions?
