I SUFFER FROM AREALLY BAD LOWER BACK AND I GET HORRIBLEPAINS IN THAT I CANT SIT ON MY BUM BECAUSE OF RAISED NERVES ITS SO BAD . IM ON LYRICA25MG3TIMES A DAY AND CODEINE FOR THE PAIN. WILL I NEED A AN OP TO BUILD UP MY DISCS THAT ARE WEARING AWAY. WHICH IS THE BEST SCAN TO SEE HOW MY NERVES IN MY LOWER SPINE ARE IM VERY SORE WHEN I SIT
I am sorry you are having such bad pain when you sit.
lyrica needs to be at a higher dose of 50-100mg three times a day.
you need an MRI scan of your lumbar and sacral spine with IV contrast as the best scan to look at bones and nerves in your lower back and sacrum.
only after an MRI scan will your doctors be able to tell if you need an operation or not.
make sure the codeine doesn't cause constipation.
constipation and hard stools can make your pain in the sacrum worse as stool can press on nerves in front of the sacrum.
so make sure you take a laxative
have you had an MRI scan of your lumbar spine and sacrum before?
HOW MUCH WOULD IT COST TO FIND OUT WHAT STATE MY NERVES ARE IN MY LUMBER REGION AND WHY IS MY BUM IMFLAMED AND BOILING HOT AND CANT GET COMFORTABLE.
MRI scan cost can vary from facility to facility.
you should ask your doctors to order an MRI scan for you
the NHS should pay for an MRI scan of your lumbar and sacral spine with contrast.
your bum is inflamed most likely because of pinched nerve in your lower lumbar and sacral spine causing nerve pain.
you most likely have pinched nerves at the Sarcal1 or Sacral 2 nerve rootlets coming out of your sacrum.
so you need this MRI scan as soon as possible.
are your doctors not willing to set up an MRI scan for you?
do you have any metal in your body like a pacemaker which can make it impossible to get an MRI scan?
IF I HAD AN MRI SCAN WHAT AND I HAD PINCHED NERVES WHAT WOULD THE DRS PRESCRIBE TO MAKE ME MORE COMFORTABLE IM IN DESPAIR
you might need a steroid injection or nerve block in areas of pinched nerves in your sacrum to help decrease pain.
or migth even need a surgery to your lumbar spine or sacrum to help decrease pain from a pinched nerve.
does this help?

WHAT IS THE SACRUM
the sacrum is the bone below your lumbar spine.
it is the bone in the buttock area where a lot of spinal nerves travel through
some people call it the tail bone.
IS THAT THE SAME AS THE COCCYX
coccyx is the very bottom of the sacrum.
at the very bottom tip of the sacrum.
