Nicorandil can indeed cause sores and burning mouth syndrome in some individuals.
THis is very challenging condition to treat.
However, the first line of treatment will be to use a steroid.
We recommend using triamcinolone acetonide in orabase paste form.
This is compounded by the compounding pharmacy an requires prescription.
The triamcinolone acetonide paste should be applied two times daily over the sores for at least 3 to 4 weeks.
Also vitamin B2 supplement 100 mg daily, and zinc supplement 30 mg daily will help with the healing.
Central pain modulating medications will provide relief to your symptoms.
Following medications should be considered either alone or in combination to achieve control of your symproms:
1. Amitriptyline 25 to 50 mg at bedtime daily.
2. Clonazepam 2 to 4 mg daily
3. gabapentin 900 to 2400 mg daily
4. Pramipexole 0.25 mg daily initially then increasing the dose upto 4.5 mg daily.
