Hello, Welcome to JustAnswer and thank you for your question.

Dr S.A.Alam :

Have you lost weight ?

Dr S.A.Alam :

What is the color of the sputum ?

Dr S.A.Alam :

Did your doctor performed chest X rays or CT scan of the chest ?

Customer:

No weight loss sputum varies been green jelly like clear and milky white. Had no xray or scan

Dr S.A.Alam :

Thank you for your reply, It has been more than 2 months and sputum is green means than it is a possible fungal infection or more serious condition like a growth, you need X rays and CT scan at earliest.

Dr S.A.Alam :

Kidney or back pain can be associated as dehydration is very common also as there is infection in lungs so it can also be the case in the kidneys.

Dr S.A.Alam :

because you also have white cells in urine

Dr S.A.Alam :

which indicate infection

Dr S.A.Alam :

So it is best to get in touch with your doctor or call the doctors office talk to his nurse and book an appointment.

Dr S.A.Alam :

You need X rays and CT scan, also sputum tests

Dr S.A.Alam :

Customer:

No weight loss, sputum green on times, clear jelly like on times and also milky colour on times. Had no xrays or scans. What can I do if he does not send me for tests, do you think l should pay to see some one privately. Also forgot to mention l am taking duloxitine had very bad episode of depression, can this medicine make condition worse?

Dr S.A.Alam :

There is no question that your doctor needs to send you for x rays and CT scan

Dr S.A.Alam :

You are at high risk for complicated infection like fungal infections and possibly growth, so it needs early evaluation.

Dr S.A.Alam :

If your doctor disagrees which is not likely

Dr S.A.Alam :

then take a second opinion.

Dr S.A.Alam :

Green color sputum means possible fungus...

Dr S.A.Alam :

which is a serious problem if not treated early.

Dr S.A.Alam :

Also with your age and repeated infections CT is must to see anything abnormal in the lungs.

Dr S.A.Alam :

I hope chat has helped. ?

Dr S.A.Alam :

Let me know if you have questions...

Dr S.A.Alam :

Questions ?

Customer:

What about the duloxitine its says not to take if have kidney or lung problems

Dr S.A.Alam :

It does but only if you have severe kidney disease

Dr S.A.Alam :

It mainly causes palpitations which can be serious and are main risk in your condition.

Dr S.A.Alam :

You have questions ?

Customer:

They may have been the cause of panic attacks

Dr S.A.Alam :

Yes it is very much possible.

Dr S.A.Alam :

Take an appointment

Dr S.A.Alam :

with your doctor.

Dr S.A.Alam :

You need early treatment.

Customer:

Do U think that recent panic attacks l had at least l though they were panic attacks as l had the feeling in my stomach that I could not breath

Dr S.A.Alam :

Well, it is hard to say without a clinical examination, i would say that this can be your lungs or pressure on your heart that may have caused these symptoms.

Dr S.A.Alam :

I hope this answers your questions.

Had xray was clear. Still feverish and much mucus some green. Could it be sinisus problems? Or is it my ME causing me problems?

Expert:  Dr S.A.Alam replied 3 years ago.
Hello,

What about CT scan and sputum tests ?
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

Doctor going down the road of sinus problems, he has given me nasal spray which has steroids, because l had ct scan two years ago and no abnormalities found at moment reluctant to send me again.Could you please advise me what will help me clear out any fungus, l am taking Acidophilus, Royal Jelly, and Propolis.. Is it correct that foods and drinks that ferment, also nuts eaten out of their shells can contribute to fungus? Still have flu like symptoms, ongoing since November. Thank you.

Expert:  Dr S.A.Alam replied 3 years ago.
Thank you for your reply,

He can do simple tests like sputum tests, blood tests to check for ESR and CRP will give evidence of infection, sputum test can tell us which bacteria or fungus is causing this and we can treat it properly.
So this test need to be considered.

Let me know if you have questions.
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

Could you please explain what ESR and CRP represent. Also can fungus be brought on by certain foods, alcohol, and can l do anything to control if this my problem, while waiting for tests.

Expert:  Dr S.A.Alam replied 3 years ago.
Thank you for your reply,

ESR stands for erythrocyte sedimentation rate, CRP stands for C reactive protein. These indicate presence of inflammation and infection. There are no foods that can cause fungal infection unless the immunity of the body is very low. Normal defense of the body does not allow fungal infections with food.
