Okay there is no consensus guidelines on how long to continue blood thinners for an unprovoked blood clot

some people recommend continue blood thinners life long

If you have a second blood clot, you definitely need lifelong drugs like warfarin

For now, it would be okay to take 325 mg of aspirin per day as a preventative. This seems to be better than nothing

To prevent a clot, you have to be sure to stay active. Don't sit for too long. exercise, eat healthy (lots of green vegetables) and drink lots of water.

Also, if you take a trip, get up every hour to move.

I hope this helps.
