What can be done about a shoulder that is clicking a lot and

Resolved Question:

What can be done about a shoulder that is clicking a lot and has an almost constant ache and especially when moved into certain positions. Think I was told it could be impingement? How long can that last...it's been 6months. Should I get an X-ray or ultrasound or something else to check it out? Thanks

This is Dr. David

yes, you should definitely get a shoulder xray to check out your shoulder

you might even need an MRI scan of your shoulder to have a better look.

you might benefit from taking NSAIDs to help decrease inflammation like advil or aleve

or you might need a steroid injection

or physical therapy to help the impingement

you should not just let it get better on its own

do you have a doctor you can see who you can talk about these tests?
