Hi there

Dr. Phil, MD :

I'm Dr. Phil

Dr. Phil, MD :

Can I ask your first name?

Customer: Tamie
Dr. Phil, MD :

Hi Tamie

Dr. Phil, MD :

Nice to meet you

Dr. Phil, MD :

I'm very sorry for the loss of the pregnancy

Customer: You too, thanks
Dr. Phil, MD :

There are a few possibilities here

Dr. Phil, MD :

1)you are pregnant and the tests just aren't positive yet

Dr. Phil, MD :

this is especially possible if you have been sexually active since Jan

Dr. Phil, MD :

2)your body has not recovered yet from the miscarriage

Dr. Phil, MD :

it can take some time for hormones to balance out

Dr. Phil, MD :

3)something else is off like thyroid. this can cause abnormal periods

Customer: Do you suggest I get some bloods taken
Dr. Phil, MD :

yes absolutely

Dr. Phil, MD :

include a blood test for pregnancy and thyroid

Dr. Phil, MD :

also CBC to check for anemia

Dr. Phil, MD :

is this helpful Tamie?

Customer: Yes thanks I will book in for next week.
Dr. Phil, MD :

alright Tamie :)

Dr. Phil, MD :

Any more questions for me?

Customer: beofre I I conceived the first time I had been trying for over 14 months as I had come off depo provera and it took along time for my periods to return to normal, would this have had anything to do with the mc
Dr. Phil, MD :

No probably not

Dr. Phil, MD :

MC are common early on

Dr. Phil, MD :

however it could contribute to your periods getting back to normal now

Customer: My last period went for 18 days lightly before I conceived and my doctor said this was probably the depo getting out of my system and then I comcieved straight after that.
Dr. Phil, MD :

well in that case, yes!

Dr. Phil, MD :

it could be related for sure

Dr. Phil, MD :

I didn't realize it was that abnormal right before conceiving

Dr. Phil, MD :

so yes, it could be related to the MC and it could be related to taking a while to get back to normal now.

Customer: Ok so is there anything you would suggest I do to get them back to normal
Dr. Phil, MD :

Just time

Dr. Phil, MD :

eat healthy, drink water, and exercise

Dr. Phil, MD :

A healthy lifestyle will promote it

Dr. Phil, MD :

and time of course

Customer: Thanks very much...
Dr. Phil, MD :

you're welcome :)
