Hi I'm Dr. Phil. Can I ask your first name?
my name is Joy
Nice to meet you
I am very concerned about this myself
Shuffling gait is a sign of parkinson's disease
does he have a hand tremor?
Can you advise
any family history of parkinsons?
It was worse today playing golf he felt he was going to fall
okay any family history of parkinsons?
It doesn't seem like parkinson's is a big concern but there is another condition called NPH
normal pressure hydrocephalus
this also causes shuffling gait
He needs an MRI or CAT scan of the brain as soon as you can get it
ok so what is the best way to go about this Dr
I would see the GP
tell about the shuffling gait
If he is unable to work it up ask for a referral to a neurologist
Ok you have answered my question thanks
you're welcome :)
any more questions for me?
No we will sort this out straight away ,thank you very much
would you be so kind as to rate positive?
