Please can you estimate these things I care about my health and teeth a lot, what is the most you can have in days or months or weeks:

when you had gingivitis how much sugar can you eat a day and how often can you eat things like chocolate, cakes, ice cream. how often can you eat spicy food. how often can you drink fizzy drinks. how often can you drink things like blackcurrant and orange juice

i'm in my 20's, female

I've got high cholesterol and a bit overweight

I do eat a balanced diet

have you seen a dentist about your gingivitis?

are you flossing once a day and brushing your teeth twice a day

i'm have a deep cleaning scaling treatmeant in 2 weeks

i brush my teeth twice a day and i use mouthwash

i don't floss

you should floss. this will improve your gum health.

Dr. David :

and you should get more of a balanced diet

the foods you are asking about are not only not good for your gums, but are not good for your overall body and heart and weight.

black current and orange juice is ok to have once or twice a day.

i do eat fruit and veg and other foods you are supposed to have in a balance diet

fizzy drinks are just sugar and are no good for you at all.

yes, you are suppose to get fruits and vegetables in a balanced diet.

cooked vegetables in garlic and olive oil or roasted vegetables with garlic in olive oil are delicious and so much better for you.

Dr. David :

cake and ice cream are ok for an occational treat, like after a meal, but you can't fill your diet full of them.

and limit alcohol consumption as well.

it is ok to have curries and chilli and shaghetti bolognise once a week

yes, those are spicy foods.

but as you get older, you might realize that spicy foods worsen acid reflux from your stomach.

Dr. David :

this is ok if you are not overweight.

and if you have strong stomach muscles

and are able to keep your stomach acid down in your stomach

i'm trying to lose weight now

so if you like spicy foods, then you have to be careful with them and exercise and loose weight and strengthen your core muscles.

so the acid reflux does not become a problem later on.

that is good you are trying to loose weight.

make sure you try to exercise a few times a week.

and watch what you eat.

and try to count calories or keep a food log of what you eat per day.

and try new oven roasted vegetables with garlic and olive oil, you might find that these are very tasty and very good for you as well and very filling.
