I have a stuffy sinus which gets worse at night so much so

Resolved Question:

I have a stuffy sinus which gets worse at night so much so that it wakes me up because I can't breathe. If I take a nasal spray it clears but this has been going on for months. What can I do?

Hi--what exactly are your symptoms from this stuffy sinus problem? What kind of nasal spray do you use?
Customer: replied 3 years ago.
My nose becomes blocked as if I have a heavy head cold. At night when I turn over it moves to the side closes to pillow. When I stand up it clears but I am aware of it in my sinus. I have used sudafed nasal spray and it works but I am aware I cannot use it for more than 3 days and this has been going on for months.

OK Hilary--just one more thing--have you seen a doctor about this and do you have any problems with heartburn or indigestion?
Customer: replied 3 years ago.
No. And yes I do get heartburn and indigestion

OK Hilary. While this may be a sinus problem it could also be a problem with gastric acid reflux--gastric acid welling up into your throat and posterior nasal passages during the night. For now you can try Zantac or Prilosec daily for two weeks but if that doesn't help, a prescription like Nasacort nasal spray--two puffs in each nostril daily--should solve your problem so I suggest you see a doctor about this
