Hi....About three months ago I tripped and smashed my head

Resolved Question:

Hi....About three months ago I tripped and smashed my head on the airing cupboard door.
I was bruised on my forehead, nose, chest and hands were bruised back and front as I tried to save myself. I went to the hospital, they didn't xray any part of me but seemed to think it would all be okay. Since then, my nose feels very cold if I press my finger inside at the top of my nose, also if I press my nose on the outside, on the area between my eyes, that part is very cold too. And I have never suffered with a runny nose but now I feel as if I need to put a tissue inside to soak up slightly wet nostrals. And when I sniff up which is quite a lot lately, my inside nose feels very sort of cold, as if there were a bigger hole than before the fall. I know that I am probably not making much sense of this, I hope I don't sound stupid!! Thanks

Hello
See a neurologist, although this does not have any real explanation from the head injury.

If there were damage to the nerves, in theory this might happen.

I would , based on the neurological exam, decide if you need an MRI scan.

So do you think I should have he situation looked at?

Expert:  DrRussMD replied 3 years ago.
Yes
As I said above.
I would have your GP consider a referral after exam.
Either to a neurologist or an ear nose and throat specialist, depending on exam results.
