Hi I'm Dr. Phil
Can I ask your first name?
Nice to meet you
Sorry about your daughter
This sounds like a viral infection
She must have been exposed to somewhere. Does she go to day care? or have friends that were sick?
Well, I see several good signs here
1)she is quite playful
2)she is still eating and drinking
3)she is otherwise doing fine
okay as long as she is drinking something that is okay
I would try to give her pedialyte too
Do you have that in the UK?
It is like gatorade for kids
helps to rehydrate
ok. standing by
okay that works
so try to encourage fluids
that is most important
warning signs are
1)is she becomes less playful or fatigued
2)she won't eat or drink for more than 12 hours
3)she starts to look dehydrated
you have to try and encourage food/fluids
only after 12-24 hours do you need to worry
little kids are actually very tough
and she should be able to beat this virus no problem
yes, you should be concerned but don't panic
Well that is natural for a child
they don't understand
give it a little time before you take her in
12-24 hours to see if she can stay hydrated
Any more questions for me?
yes of course
I bought gatorade for all my kids when they were sick
pedialyte is very expensive
thank you Sujit :)
would you be so kind as to rate me excellent before leaving?
thank you Sujit
