This is Dr. David
I am sorry your mum is not taking her medications.
how old is she?
does she have a hard time remembering?
does she have early dementia or forgetfulness
these patients can be very very hard to deal with.
she is 44?
I'm sure she has been in and out of mental hospitals before, correct?
my mother has bipolar illness
and growing up with her, she would often decide not to take her medications.
and her mania would get much worse and she would have to go into the hospital for a period of time
where they would give her medications and watch her take them.
is she willing to see a psychiatrist regularly
or a psychotherapist?
that is too bad.
it might be good, if you can, to go with her to her next doctor's appointment, if she is willing to go.
she can do that, and the police will see through her.
if she is a danger to herself or others, she could get sectioned and committed and forced admitted into a hospital.
well, now the police have a record of her giving false statements
well, she doesn't sound like she is in the right state of mind to be caring for an infant
they didn't believe her enough to throw your father into jail.
the hospital discharged her?
sounds like the psychiatric team doesn't want to deal with her either.
I can't believe a judge and court would believe a patient with paranoid schizophrenia who is not taking her medication and put your father in jail if he didn't do these crimes.
she must have been very convincing.
that is where they were wrong.
they should have done a mental assessment.
and the lawyers for your father was wrong as well,
to not bring to the courts attention that she has a mental illness like paranoid schizophrenia.
that makes no sense that lawyers would say that.
I don't think lawyers believe in brain washing.
they deal in testimony and evidence.
did you have to testify in court in the trial of your father?
I can't believe they didn't know she had a mental illness.
well, his lawyers should have brought up the fact that she had paranoid schizophrenia.
why didn't his lawyers bring up the fact that she has a history of paranoid schizophrenia in the past?
he was willing to suffer 9 months in jail for lies she is saying.
she can cry all she wants,
but his lawyers should have called up her prior psychiatrist to obtain her prior mental health evaluation records.
and this should have been brought into evidence in court
and she would have had to have a mental health evaluation.
and she would have been deemed not a credible witness.

how old are you?
I would call those numbers I have given you.
and see what they can do for you.
if she is harming herself in front of you, then she is a danger to herself.
and she should be committed into a hospital for this
and treated for her mental illness.
is she harming herself in front of you and her baby as well?
well, if I was him, I would stay away from her as well.
I am so sorry.
I am sorry.
it does sound like you would benefit from talking to a counselor yourself.
to help your own mental health.
you should be seeing a GP regularly as well now you are 18
and you should talk to your doctor about getting set up to talk to a psychotherapist.
to help you get this anxiety and stress off of your chest.
it would be much healthier for you to do that.
don't bottle all of this up inside.
you need to talk to a counselor about it.
good luck to you and your family
I hope the information I have given you has helped.
