Dr. David :

This is Dr. David

Dr. David :

I am sorry you are having musclar spasms and pain from your neck

Dr. David :

you most likely have a pinched nerve or a herniated disk in your neck pressing on nerves causing this muscle spasm and pain from your neck to your shoulder and left arm and hip.

Dr. David :

you should see your GP about it and get an MRI scan of your cervical spine

Dr. David :

which can see very clearly your nerves and bone and vertebral disks inbetween the bones

Dr. David :

an MRI scan is more clear than an xray

Customer:

thankyou had a tia a couple of years ago could be it be related

Dr. David :

usually TIAs don't present with these types of symptoms

Dr. David :

of musclar spams

Dr. David :

but there is always a small chance it could be a TIA.

Dr. David :

if you are getting an MRI scan of your neck, and you have a history of TIAs, you might benefit from an MRI scan of the brain at the same time as well.

Dr. David :

have you had an MRI scan of the brain?

Dr. David :

have you been placed on blood thinners like aspirin or coumadin because of your TIAs?

Customer:

am on 75mg clopidogerel nothing else allergic to persantin

Dr. David :

I see.

Dr. David :

that is plavix.

Dr. David :

that is a good blood thinner.

Dr. David :

I would still recommend you getting a brain MRI scan

Dr. David :

and a neck MRI scan.

Dr. David :

talk to your GP about it because of your history.

Dr. David :

in the UK, there might be a wait to get an MRI scan

Dr. David :

or you can go pay privately for one

Customer:

had an mri scan just after tia October 2012

Dr. David :

of the brain, right?

Customer:

yes results were good showed very little silting and no narrowing

Dr. David :

I see.

Dr. David :

that is good.

Dr. David :

talk to your GP about your neck.

Dr. David :

you might benefit from physical therapy

Dr. David :

or using anti-inflammatories for your neck

Dr. David :

or start with an xray of your neck to check the bones.

Customer:

thank you for your help I will make apt to see my gp

Dr. David :

you are welcome

Dr. David :

best of luck to you
