Hi there. Thank you for your question. I will be helping you out with your queries
Motor neuron disease is a diagnosis of exclusion and it may require many months of work up and follow up with a neurologist to have a final diagnosis of motor neuron disease.
Its still possible that she may be having some kind of motor neuron disease, which in itself has many types.
She does seem to have a neurological syndrome that is not showing up in the extensive tests that she has had done. I would still like that she should have nerve conduction studies and EMG (electromyography) done which I think has not been done in her case as yet.
Are you following me?
Anything that you would like to add or ask further?
would motor neuron disease show up in a emg ?
It would act to rule out other possible causes.
Motor neuron disease is basically a diagnosis of exclusion.
There is no one test by which we can say that one has it or does not have it.
if there is no one test to say whether or not she is suffering from this - where do we go from there? and who is the best medical person to go to?
Continue following up with neurologist.
That is the best thing to do.
