I have been advised that my lungs have got smaller in the last 2 years when compared with previous x-rays. What does this mean?

Hello
You can not see the lungs on xray, only the air space of the lungs.
This simply means that you had an x ray that showed that the lungs were not as inflated.
There is no way to concluded they got smaller.

If you can not get a deep breath because of lung problems, this would be another reason.

So does this mean that my lung capacity is diminished because of apb, & athsma. My bronchi is also enlarged. and last ct shows numerous nodules.

You can not tell that without pulmonary function testing.
This will show your exact measurements.
That is done by a pulmonologist, which is who you should be seeing.

I have already had pulm function and spirometry. Results were not good. Is this the reason why my lung capacity has diminished? I saw my consultant this evening but he was really busy and I didn't want to ask too many questions.

Yes.
That is correct.
And this is why you show less inflation on the x ray.
