Ask a Doctor and Get an Answer to Your Medical Question ASAP
Hi there. Thank you for your question. I will be helping you out with your queries
since how long are you having this pain?
Do you have any other medical problems?
About 1 week
Have you ever had such pain
Have you ever had such pain before?
Yes medical problems, heart and clots on lung (an involved situation). I remember two cases of a similar pain, at 15 yrs. old acute nephritis in right kidney, treated medically, cracked ribs 30 years as a result of a fall.
I think that you should at least have an ultrasound to have a look at your kidneys particularly which is what I think the pain may be originating from.
You may be having a kidney stone that may be causing this pain.
If the ultrasound is normal then they should proceed with a CT scan of the abdomen.
Are you with me?
Yes, have had these scans at various times in my life.
When was the last one done?
Had a CT scan after a stent was inserted last September. They found clots on both lungs and have been on warfarin for the last 4 months.
Ok, well that was a CT scan of the lungs, this time you may require one for your abdomen.
I also suffer from burping, is that any help. I will see the nurse practitioner and speak to her about the CT scan. She thinks a major back muscle has been strained due to its hardness. I don't agree with her because of the side effects.
Burping is most likely not related to the pain, however, sometimes pain of the stomach can also be felt in the left side, the location that you mentioned.
But having said that I think that you need to have more tests to be sure that everything is normal.
To summarise, I need to request CT scan to establish what is occuring.
Yes or at least an ultrasound.
ok, I will follow both of these suggestions. Thankyou.
