Hi--does she have any other medical conditions and how long has all this been going on? Has she had any specific tests or procedures to look at this?
Customer: replied 3 years ago.
Been going for 10 yrs just had kidney scan and came back clear. Medication for thyroid. Two swollen glands, one under her arm and one her neck. Tired all the time.just been given naproxen.Dr has now said the problem could be her spine. Had urethan stretch. 2 yrs ago

Have the swollen glands been investigated, say, with a biopsy?
Customer: replied 3 years ago.
Had scans came back clear. When on antibiotics the swelling gets bigger. Been told nothing sinister going on in glands

OK--just one more question--can you tell me more about what you're calling pain in her kidneys? And has she had an MRI of her spine?
Customer: replied 3 years ago.
She has curvature of the top of her spine. Had the scan about 12 yrs ago

And again--you said kidney pain. Where exactly is that located?
Customer: replied 3 years ago.
Both sides just above her hips

OK--and we can continue after this if you need more information. I can only tell you how I would go about working this up. The possibilities here are fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome (with an elevated EBV virus titer that I would test her for), a disk problem in her spine, low cortisol levels, and possibly an autoimmune disorder like polymyalgia or lupus or ankylosing spondylitis for which I would do an autoimmune screen with ANA, rheumatoid factor, sed rate, and C reactive protein. If I were to refer her to a specialist at this point it would be a rheumatologist to evaluate all these possibilities

Would my daughter be allowed to show her doctor your suggestions. I've said I would pay to see a consultant but would not be able to pay for treatment. It's gone on for so long. We need answers asap .

Indeed--just have her tell him exactly what I just said and her doctor himself could at least do the studies and tests I mentioned before the referral. Let me know how it goes and please remember to rate my service to you
