Hello,
Welcome to justanswer.com and thank you for your question.
I am going to assist you with your question. First I need a little more information-

How long has this been going on for?
Have you noticed pain in both thighs?
Associated redness on thigh?
Is it painful to touch?
Do you have pain in lower back?
On a grade of 1 to 10 how will you rate the pain?

Kind Regards,
Dr. Robert

Dear Customer, Thanks for providing quick additional information.
I'm so sorry to hear of your discomfort.

Your symptoms can occur with a condition Meralgia paresthetica also known as lateral femoral cutaneous nerve syndrome (LFCNS).

It can cause sudden and severe burning pain in upper part of thigh.
Pain in thigh is usually felt when one walk.

This occurs due to compression of a nerve called the Lateral Cutaneous nerve in the thigh. Other possibility is pressure on a nerve root from the spine. It is also very common condition.Unfortunately such condition can develop all of sudden.

Other possibilities could be-
-Electrolyte depletion like- salt, potassium, magnesium and calcium imbalance.
-Muscle fatigue.

You need to follow these measures to resolve this condition-

1. You can use Heating pads or hot wet towels on affected areas. You can apply it for 15-20 minutes and it can be done 3-4 times a day.
2. Take Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen or naproxen.
3. Take bed rest, and remain away from lifting any heavy objects.
4. You can take help from physical therapist. Physical therapy includes various modalities like Short wave diathermy, Infra red , Wax therapy these will help you a lot.

If symptoms doesn't start to improve in next 3-4 days, with above measures, then you need to undergo these tests-

-X ray/ scan of lower spine.
-Nerve conduction studies test.

A clinical evaluation should be done for precise diagnosis.
I would recommend that you visit your primary doctor for evaluation and get it managed.

can I take ibuprofen with codamol

Expert:  Dr. Robert replied 3 years ago.
Dear Customer,

Yes, you can take Ibuprofen with Co-codamol.
But you should not take any medications which contain additional paracetamol (acetaminophen) with co-codamol.

Ibuprofen can be taken in dosage of 800 milligrams per dose or 3200 mg per day (4 maximum doses).

Please use above measures, and see your doctor for evaluation.
