This sounds like possible autoimmune disease. Like an inflammatory arthritis

I would see a rheumatologist and get worked up for this

rheumatoid arthritis is treated with medicines that decrease inflammation

the disease is an autoimmune diease (where your immune system attacks itself)

It is not curable but it is treatable

Yes, the immune system is going wacky. That is why this is happening. Usually a virus triggers it.
