Customer Question

I'm a 25 year old male. Last week, at a regularly scheduled appt, my blood pressure came back as 160/120. Yesterday, it was measured again at 140/110. I have another appt next week for a 24 hour blood monitoring.

After researching a bit, I am concerned I may have two other symptoms. I know that I snore horribly (my gf will not sleep over, I can be heard through a closed door), and am concerned it may be sleep apnea. I am not tired during the day, but I take methylphenidate for ADD, so I wouldn't be.

I also sweat profusely. I was asked today if I had gone for a run after walking down two flights of stairs. The sweat comes from my face, armpits and palms. I know sweating can be effected by blood pressure.

I am concerned I am panicking myself for no reason. Should I inform my doctor now about these other symptoms or wait until next Thursday to address them?

Hi--if by chance you have sleep apnea that wouldn't be the cause of your high blood pressure or of the sweating. That said there could be a problem with your thyroid being overactive which would explain the blood pressure problem and the sweating. I do think you need to let your doctor know about the sweating for sure now and you can also let him know about the snoring problem
