Dr. Shahzad MD :

Hi there. Thank you for your question. I will be helping you out with your queries

Dr. Shahzad MD :

You need to go to the emergency as soon as possible to have this evaluated.

Dr. Shahzad MD :

I would like to rule out/rule in a clot in the deep veins of the legs that can be a cause of this and this would require immediate treatment with blood thinning medications like heparin followed by warfarin once the diagnosis is confirmed.

Dr. Shahzad MD :

So the main possibility with your symptoms i.e. a swollen and painful leg is a clot in the vein of that particular leg that requires a visit to the emergency as soon as possible.

Dr. Shahzad MD :

Let me know if you have any further questions.
