Hi Faith

Dr. Phil, MD :

nice to meet you

Dr. Phil, MD :

is it your whole hand or specific finges?

Dr. Phil, MD :

fingers

Dr. Phil, MD :

hello?

Customer: What do I need to do now.
Dr. Phil, MD :

I would recommend a nerve test of the arms

Dr. Phil, MD :

likely your nerves are getting pinched at night

Dr. Phil, MD :

could be something like carpal tunnel

Dr. Phil, MD :

the nerve test is called an EMG

Customer: Hi I didn't realise you had responded, I've had dizzy spells for over three weeks, blood tests are normal and so is ECG, I'm diabetic and take quite a lot of medication. For a long time I have had numbness in my right hand when sleeping , it wakes me up but just lately it is both hands and getting worse. Some years ago I was told I had slight carpel tunnel . I feel there is more to the dizziness and faint episodes and want to know what to do. Doctor said I should be better by next week and has signed me off work this week. Please could u advise me thank you
Dr. Phil, MD :

the vertigo makes sense

Dr. Phil, MD :

I agree with your doctor

Dr. Phil, MD :

and the carpal tunnel is getting worse

Dr. Phil, MD :

hello?

Dr. Phil, MD :

are you there?

Customer: Hi yes, wj
Customer: what do you think
Dr. Phil, MD :

I think it is vertigo like your doctor said

Dr. Phil, MD :

and the carpal tunnel is getting worse

Customer: How long will the vertigo last and what should I do about the carpel tunnel please
Dr. Phil, MD :

the vertigo will last 2-3 weeks

Dr. Phil, MD :

sometimes longer

Dr. Phil, MD :

you should get carpal tunnel wrist splints to wear at night

Dr. Phil, MD :

Dr. Phil, MD :

yes it will

Dr. Phil, MD :

try to walk and be active

Dr. Phil, MD :

it will help get over the dizziness

Customer: What do I do if it is not better by Friday as I should be returning to work Monday and gp surgery not open at weekend to see anyone.
Dr. Phil, MD :

Dr. Phil, MD :

okay?

Dr. Phil, MD :

hello?

Customer: I will watch that I'm supposed to do the home epley maneuver but am struggling to understand the printouts I have been given . What do you suggest if this condition hasn't improved completely by Friday, it will be four weeks by then
Dr. Phil, MD :

then ask for a referral to an ear nose and throat doctor

Customer: I was told this at the hospital last week when I was taken in after passing out at school but the gp I saw said there was no need, the a and e said I needed to see ent or neurology as soon as. I am not one to make a fuss but feel this really needs to be cleared up so I can work efficiently in my job and drive, please advise .
Dr. Phil, MD :

I agree.

Dr. Phil, MD :

if it doesn't resolve by friday then see ENT or neurology

Customer: How do I ask doctor at gp surgery if he has said I don't need to.
Dr. Phil, MD :

just tell him you aren't any better and need answers

Customer: Can I say that I really need to sort this out or do I ask my own doctor, when she is back off leave
Dr. Phil, MD :

yes you can

Dr. Phil, MD :

I wouldn't wait

Customer: Do you know if this could be anything else.
Dr. Phil, MD :

It's hard to say for sure without knowing your whole case

Dr. Phil, MD :

but the vertigo seems likely and is VERY common

Customer: Ok ,I've also had a cough since January , could this be connected.
Dr. Phil, MD :

yes it could be

Customer: Would ent provide answers on initial consultation?
Dr. Phil, MD :

yes, most likely they would

Dr. Phil, MD :

ENT are very good at determining the cause of dizziness

Dr. Phil, MD :

Faith, would you mind providing me a positive rating at this point? I would greatly appreciate it
