accutaine would not be a good idea for use on a fordcyt spot. likely it will not work

where is it on your body? is it on your penis?

Customer: replied 3 years ago.
Yes I have fordyce spots on penis.
Expert:  Dr. David replied 3 years ago.
are you using non water based lubricants on your penis during masturbation?

can you upload a clear jpg photo of the area?

how long have you had them?

here is how you upload a jpg image

type a word in the textbox and highlight it

then select the "chain" icon above the textbox or the paper clip icon to upload a jpg

this opens a window where you can click next to the text box to select the jpg or pdf file on your computer to upload into JustAnswer

I am using a mobile device so can't upload a photo. I have had them since around the age of 8, and they are spreading. I am 29 now.

I don't usually masturbate and don't use anything when I do.

I have recently been to see a dermatologist who agreed with me that I have fordyce spots/sebaceous prominence which is similar to the pictures I have seen on the forums. And have read accutane can be used to treat them.

It is the only thing I think I have read which can treat them.

what did the dermatologist say to use on the area? accutane?

you can try the accutane

but usually cardon dioxide laser therapy at the dermatology office is better for removing them.

did they suggest this for you?
Customer: replied 3 years ago.
All they suggested was an anti bacterial soap. Which I thought was a bit crude.

The lesions are under the skin so I don't see how a laser who help or would just leave scarring.

you can try scubbing the area with a loofah sponge and antibacterial soap first.

usually fordcyt spots come from clogged skin pores on your penis.

so exfoliating the area is the best way to help open up those pores and help the skin pores be unclogged.

it can take time for them to open up and clear up

some people just have more oily skin than others.

So am I fine to go ahead and take accutane?
Expert:  Dr. David replied 3 years ago.
you can try it.

but it is 50/50 if it will help or not.

you should also try scrubbing the area when you wash and using the antibacterial soap and see if that helps as well

good luck
