I have cerebral palsy since birth on my right side of my body

Resolved Question:

I have cerebral palsy since birth on my right side of my body I have limited movement on my right arm and leg and no movement on my right hand, fingers, ankle and toes. Recently my middle toe on my right foot is moving by itself, I get a feeling like pins and needles just before it happens. My question is why is it happening and is it anything to be concerned about.

Hello
I am a double board certified US doctor of internal medicine and integrative medicine. I will give you an initial answer or ask a question. Use reply to expert as needed to communicate with me.
This can be nerve irritation.

Often this is due to disc problems in the lower spine.

Spasticity is part of CP so this can contribute as well.

I would also make sure your thyroid function is OK.
And that your electrolyte balance is OK.

I would go to the doctor and have a spinal exam as well as a complete structural neurological exam.

Physical therapy might be the treatment needed at this point in time.

Let me know if you have further questions.
