Dr. Thomas, MD :

hello

Dr. Thomas, MD :

Have you been back to the doctor for follow up

Dr. Thomas, MD :

please type a response

Customer:

Yes 6 weeks after my op he said everything looked ok I thought it would settle but it hasnt

Dr. Thomas, MD :

But that has been two years

Dr. Thomas, MD :

Why have you not been back?

Customer:

I thought the feeling would eventually come back and I thought the dryness was due to my gland being removed.

Dr. Thomas, MD :

OK

Dr. Thomas, MD :

There can be nerve damage.

Dr. Thomas, MD :

That should get better within a year if it is going to.

Dr. Thomas, MD :

But, there can also be pelvic syndromes that compress nerves, and physical therapy might help.

Dr. Thomas, MD :

I would go back to the doctor...ask for an exam.

Dr. Thomas, MD :

Hormonal problems can also perpetuate dryness.

Dr. Thomas, MD :

That would need to be tested.

Dr. Thomas, MD :

Make sense?

Customer:

Yes but the dryness only came after my op.

Dr. Thomas, MD :

There is more than one gland. Damage would have to be extensive. You need a sex hormone panel, thyroid blood test, and am cortisol to get a complete picture

Dr. Thomas, MD :

OK?

Customer:

My doctor is very good at brushing things under the carpet, it was actually a nurse doing my smear that got my cyst looked at.

Dr. Thomas, MD :

I understand.

Dr. Thomas, MD :

Did you understand my comments about hormones?

Customer:

Not really

Dr. Thomas, MD :

OK

Dr. Thomas, MD :

Low estrogen or thyroid imblance can contribute to dryness.

Dr. Thomas, MD :

These are easily tested with blood tests.

Dr. Thomas, MD :

If your doctor is not going to be attentive, ask for a referral; endocrinology or internal medicine.

Dr. Thomas, MD :

OK?

Customer:

No bother thanx so do u think this is coincidence or to do with my op

Dr. Thomas, MD :

I think it can have to do with your operation and or reflect hormonal problems and pelvic problems,as above

Customer:

No bother thanx

Dr. Thomas, MD :

OK

Dr. Thomas, MD :
