This is Dr. David
you could have something called polycystic ovarian syndrome.
where your ovaries produce excessive androgen hormones
and causes irregular cycles.
you could be pregnant as well.
this needs to be checked.
I am not pregnant my doctor has checked for that
that is good.
you need to be checked for polycystic ovarian syndrome.
with blood tests to check for androgen levels.
and also ultrasounds of your ovaries.
your thyroid hormone levels need to be checked as well.
I have had lots of blood tests to check for thyroid, pregnancy, and some other tests but I dont know what they were for, they have all come back ok.ould they see the polycystic ovarian syndrome on the ultrasound?
yes, they can see if you have cysts in your ovaries
and they can check for fluid in your pelvis.
those will be important to know.
ultrasound is the best next step
CT scan of the abdomen and pelvis is good as well
let me know what it shows.
My mother told me last week that her and my grandmother suffered from clotting, I have had no clots but could this be causing a blockage at all?
Could the clotting be a possibility?
Hello Dr David....are you still there?
I was with a patient.
clotting would be unlikely and rare in a 37 year old patient
your symptoms don't sound like they are from a blood clot.
your symptoms sound like they could be due to a hormone imbalance from your ovaries
hormone disregulation can cause weight gain, loss of periods
you could also have a vaginal bacterial infection or fungal infection causing change in smells.
ok, Ill let you know the outcome, thank you Dr David
you are welcome
best of luck
