Hi, Thanks for your question. I'm Dr. Hasan and I'll try to help you.
Yes a radiologist can tell on the basis of size, shape, margins etc that it is likely to be an infection or something dangerous.
But symptoms are more important.
What exactly are your symptoms and why this x ray was done?
Were you having any symp***** *****ke cough with blood in it?
Any weight loss, loss of appetite, fever, chills etc?
Since how exactly you have the above symptoms?
Thanks a lot for your input.
As I have said earlier that yes radiologist can give his opinion and if in your case he has said so that it is not likely to be anything serious then this is reassuring.
As per symptoms, my opinion is the same that anything serious is not likely.
You are on a right tract.
Take antibiotics and get your X ray repeated as advised
and please don't get stressed.
X ray itself is not a very sensitive investigation.
Many a times shadows are artefact.
So get it repeated after antibiotics and if it is still there then see a pulmonologist and get CT scan but hopefully will not be required and I wish you all the best for that.
Any question please?
