To turn of a ventilator to key someone die peacefully and quickly what is the process? And how long would you have to decide and could they do this over the weekend?

Dr. K. : Hi there. Im so sorry about your Dad. You will have to check with his drs as to the weekwnd but that should not be an issue. Does he have a living will? Have the Drs suggested he will not recover?

Dr. K. : When a ventilator is turned off the patient can be sedated with pain medication. The ventilator is then slowed and the patient is weaned off it. Its usually not a long and drawn out process
