Hello from JustAnswer.

I'm sorry that no expert has yet responded, but this may be because the answer would depend upon the testing method and the and/or the drug.

The longest period of time that can be covered by testing would be a hair drug test, which looks back for about 90 days. This length of time is determined by the length of the hair tested, because hair grows at a relatively constant rate, so would be true for all drugs.

If a urine test is done, then it would vary according to which drug is involved, varying from several days to a couple months. Specifically for alcohol, the usual test that is done is a urine test for EtG (ethyl glucuronide), a metabolite of alcohol, which can be positive for up to 80 hours after last use (although usually less).

If you don't know which testing would be done, then the most prudent would be abstinence for 90-100 days to assure a negative hair drug test.
