Dr. Shahzad MD :

welcome

Dr. Shahzad MD :

You mentioned you have tried:
1. Bisacodyl
2. Supossitories

Dr. Shahzad MD :

Dr. Shahzad MD :

I have not answered your question yet.

Dr. Shahzad MD :

I would like that you should try an enema like a docusate gel enema that comes by the name of norgalax

Dr. Shahzad MD :

or a water based enema

Dr. Shahzad MD :

These are over-the-counter and you can try them.

Dr. Shahzad MD :

If your symptoms persist you should contact the emergency as you may then require manual evacuation of your rectum.

Dr. Shahzad MD :

By manual evacuation I mean by the digit of the doctor or nurse.

Dr. Shahzad MD :

Sometimes at your age stool gets impacted in the rectum and needs to be removed manually.

solution that could be self administered

Expert:  Dr. SH replied 3 years ago.

I have mentioned using enemas and if that does not help you should go to the emergency or to your doctor.

There are not too many self administered solutions available other than what I have mentioned.

Expert:  Dr. SH replied 3 years ago.
You should use:
1. Enema (which can be self administered albeit with a little difficulty)
2. If that does not help then you must go seek help as this may be an impacted stool and will then require manual evacuation.
