Dr. Shahzad MD :

Hi there. Thank you for your question. I will be helping you out with your queries

Dr. Shahzad MD :

Sorry for the slight delay in my response as I was away for a moment.

Dr. Shahzad MD :

Can you please mention where exactly do you have this stomach discomfort located?

Dr. Shahzad MD :

Do let me know.

Customer:

It is very difficult to explain but it varies from an odd sensation under breast bone ( centre) and sometimes centre of the abdomen. .

Dr. Shahzad MD :

How are your bowel movements?

Customer:

All normal..sometimes can be loose depending on diet

Dr. Shahzad MD :

ok

Dr. Shahzad MD :

Have you been tested or seen for this?

Customer:

No not yet

Dr. Shahzad MD :

ok

Dr. Shahzad MD :

The symptoms that you are describing do not sound like anything serious at all.

Customer:

I do have an appointment scheduled for next week.

Dr. Shahzad MD :

Just as a general rule, people who are prone to stress or anxiety can have pains in the abdomen like what you are having which are usually due to IBS (irritable bowel syndrome)

Dr. Shahzad MD :

I would however recommend that you should have at least an ultrasound of your abdomen to have a look at the various organs in your tummy.

Customer:

I feel well in general and am not constapated, im not in pain as such just a qeird sensation sometimes like a pulling or a not?

Dr. Shahzad MD :

I understand, again, this does not sound like anything serious.

Dr. Shahzad MD :

Most like pain is originating from the intestines.

Dr. Shahzad MD :

Pain coming from the intestine can move around like what you are mentioning.

Customer:

When you say look at organs in the tummy??..what other possib conditions are there?

Dr. Shahzad MD :

I would like to rule out stones in the urinary tract, rule out fatty liver, check to see if there are any lymph nodes or glands enlarged, have a look at your spleen to make sure it is not enlarged.

Customer:

This sounds rather strange too but sometimes I struggle to burp immediately. .I do a little latwr on but it takes time ?strange?

Dr. Shahzad MD :

That can happen in normal people as well

Customer:

Are these problems treatable and common?

Dr. Shahzad MD :

That is something that does not indicate any disease process

Dr. Shahzad MD :

Yes very common

Dr. Shahzad MD :

I would like that you should try over-the-counter omeprazole

Dr. Shahzad MD :

This will help with your acidity.

Dr. Shahzad MD :

So if increased acidity is the cause this will improve your symptoms.

Customer:

Okay so I can just get these over the counter ..

Dr. Shahzad MD :

Yes

Dr. Shahzad MD :

Omeprazole is over-the-counter.

Dr. Shahzad MD :

If you cannot get that, you can certainly get zantac which serves the same purpose but is milder.
