Ask a Doctor and Get an Answer to Your Medical Question ASAP
Hi there. Thank you for your question. I will be helping you out with your queries
Most likely with what you are mentioning its what is called as a furuncle.
Furuncle is a deep infection of the hair follicle.
It results in a small abscess formation.
Usually treatment with topical antibiotic cream like neosporin with warm compresses helps resolves it.
Its important to drain the abscess when you can for full recovery.
This is something very common and usually does resolve with treatment at home.
if, however, symptoms do not resolve, I would recommend that you should be seen and as you may require this to be drained at the doctor's office.
