Dr.Amita :

Hello

Dr.Amita :

Can you tell me what medicine are you asking about?

Dr.Amita :

Please enter chat

Customer:

anti inflammatory,

Dr.Amita :

Is it celebrex?

Dr.Amita :

Do you still get any epigastric pain or any other gastric symptoms

Customer:

no, none atall

Dr.Amita :

Ok

Dr.Amita :

You may use an anti inflammatory preferably one lcelebrex which has got a lesser tendency

Customer:

what is celebrex?

Dr.Amita :

Preferably Celebrex which has got a lesser tendency to cause duodenal ulcer

Customer:

can I get it over the counter?

Dr.Amita :

Celebrex contains the drug celecoxib

Dr.Amita :

No you cannot get it over the counter

Dr.Amita :

You can occasionally use over the counter Advil in dose of 200mg but taking celecoxib would be preferable because it is safer with respect to earlier history of duodenal ulcer

Customer:

so I need to see my G.P then, why has he not already recommended it for me, that's not a fair question then I think!

Dr.Amita :

Celecoxib is a drug which is not given in certain conditions for example patients with coronary artery disease.Your GP would be able to decide if you are a suitable candidate to get celecoxib.

Customer:

I will try advil but see my g.p. with a view to celbrex.

Dr.Amita :

That would be the right approach

Customer:

I had no symptoms when the perforation occurred nor did I tae any mediction, I amd now otherwise healthy individual.

Dr.Amita :

13 years is a pretty long period and whatever caused the perforation at that time may not be relevant at present.Considering that it was not a drug induced perforation you should be OK taking Advil

Customer:

Thank you for your advice, is Advil obtained over the counter?

Dr.Amita :

Yes.It can be had OTC

Customer:

Many thanks indeedI will sign of now.
