We have a son who has wet his bed quite frequently recently.

Resolved Question:

We have a son who has wet his bed quite frequently recently. He is 4.5 years old and doesn't seem to have any particular health problems. It started after a visit to the swimming pool. Is this normal or should we consult our doctor?

Dr. Natasha :

Hello

Dr. Natasha :

yes, it is unusual to be potty trained for a while and then start wetting the bed

Dr. Natasha :

it is possible that he procured a urinary tract infection or some irritation of his penis/urethra after the swimming pool which make him pee at night (or cannot hold it)

Dr. Natasha :

Stress is also a common cause

Dr. Natasha :

But he does need to see his doctor for a urinalysis at least and a check up

Dr. Natasha :

I hope that this helped

Dr. Natasha :

also make sure he is not drinking any water at night or has access to it

Dr. Natasha :

if he seems to be urinating a lot during the day, he needs to be tested for sugar

Dr. Natasha :

did you see what I wrote
