This is Dr. David

Dr. David :

I am sorry you are having body swelling.

Dr. David :

you want to avoid excessive salt in your diet as salt can cause more water retention and more swelling.

Dr. David :

you want to avoid alcohol which can damage the liver.

Dr. David :

if your liver is not making enough protein called albumin, this can cause swelling and edema in your legs.

Dr. David :

you can try to eat more protein to help your liver make more albumin protein which helps keep fluid in the blood vessels and keeps it from leaking out into the soft tissues.

Dr. David :

do you have ascities fluid in your abdomen? that can be from liver inflammation as well

Dr. David :

ascities abdominal excess fluid has to be drained out by a needle procedure called paracentesis.

Dr. David :

your doctors can do that drainage procedure.
