This is Dr. David
I am sorry about your daughter.
she could be having bad migraine headaches which can cause visual light auras prior to headaches
normal lights can be very bothersome for patients who have migraine headaches.
she could still have migraine headaches.
is she willing to see a doctor to see if migraine medications can help?
you should believe her.
migraine headaches can cause lights to appear to flicker .
it sounds like she needs a lot of therapy including treatment for migraine headaches and anxiety and ocd as well.
is she getting her anxiety and ocd treated at this point?
if her anxiety and ocd are bad, she really needs to consider medication treatment like an SSRI agent like zoloft or paxil to help decrease anxiety and ocd.
and she needs to consider possible migraine medication.
yes, it sounds like she needs another GP doctor
I doubt it is neurological
I bet most likely it is from her migraines or her anxiety disorder blowing up very very mild symptoms.
if you squint you can cause lights to flicker. and other optical phenomenon.
I would focus on helping her find a new GP doctor.
best of luck to you and her.
I hope she gets better.
