Dr. David :

This is Dr. David

Dr. David :

neurological deterioration does not always continue in every patient.

Dr. David :

some patients can continue to have normal neurological functions.

Dr. David :

every patient who has an astrocytoma is different.

Dr. David :

every astrocytoma and every patient is different

Dr. David :

and no two tumors are in the exact same location in the brain.

Dr. David :

and there are low grade and high grade astrocytomas as well.

Hi Dr. David

Thank you for your feedback; i suppose as you say - every situation is different. And additionally, there may be some imaging which perhaps does not pick up tumor activity.

I suppose that when it comes to such neurological issues, it is hard to get clear definitive answers as much as we (the carer's try and make sense of things).

that is right

there are crude tests such as the mini mental brain assessment test and other neurological question tests which try to assess and quantify someones brain neurological function

and these tests can be taken over the years to see if your brain function is staying normal or declining.
