This is Dr. David

Dr. David :

he most likely has torn esophageal varices from vomitting

Dr. David :

he has to stop drinking alcohol or else he will continue to vomit and vomit blood.

Dr. David :

blood in the stools can be from hemorrhoid bleeding.

Dr. David :

the excessive alcohol use is more worrisome.

Dr. David :

is your son willing to stop drinking?

Customer:

Yes as he is in bed now- I was concerned as I thought he could have an ulcer. Is he ok to wait for hospital appointment?

Dr. David :

ulcer would be rare at his age

Dr. David :

but he could have torn esophageal varicies and blood vessels from vomiting.

Dr. David :

which is very serious.

Dr. David :

he has to stop drinking.

Dr. David :

Dr. David :

Dr. David :

yes.

Customer:

It is the first time he has drunk excessively for a long time and does not drink during the week. Do we need to inform his Gp.

Dr. David :
