Dr. David :

This is Dr. David

Dr. David :

I am sorry you are having tightness of your knee.

Dr. David :

how did you injure it?

Dr. David :

did you do any heavy lifting or sports or straining?

Dr. David :

have you had this type of knee pain before?

JACUSTOMER-epb0amk6- : Not done any strain full activity, this knee has given me problems in the past, but the pain had never been like this
Dr. David :

I see

Dr. David :

you could have bad arthritis in your knee

Dr. David :

or you could be having gout inflammation in your knee.

Dr. David :

you need to see your GP doctor to get you knee examined

Dr. David :

and a knee xray

Dr. David :

and blood test to check your uric acid levels to see if they are high.

Dr. David :

high uric acid levels can be gout which can cause joint inflammation

Dr. David :

you get uric acid from eating too much meat and proteins or drinking alcohol

Dr. David :

which all can elevate uric acid levels in your blood and in your joints

Dr. David :

do you have a GP doctor?

JACUSTOMER-epb0amk6- : Yes, but I wanted to know was if there any pain killer that can help tonight
Dr. David :

ice packs and ibuprofen are strong NSAIDs for knee arthritis pain.

Dr. David :

there is not that much stronger than ibuprofen.

Dr. David :

you can try naproxen sodium 220mg two pills twice a day.

Dr. David :

but it is similar to ibuprofen.

Dr. David :

for anything stronger, you have to see your GP doctor.

JACUSTOMER-epb0amk6- : How long will it take to get better
Dr. David :

it depends on what is wrong with your knee

Dr. David :

if it is bad arthritis it could take several days or weeks.

Dr. David :

if it is gout, you need specific gout medications for your knee to get better.

Dr. David :

make sure if you continue to take ibuprofen, you take it with food in your stomach and with plenty of fluids.

Dr. David :

taking too much ibuprofen can upset your stomach and cause more strain on your kidneys.

Dr. David :

so you have to make sure you drink lots of water when you take ibuprofen.

Dr. David :

are you not willing to see your GP doctor?

JACUSTOMER-epb0amk6- : Now I will to find out exactly what's wrong with the knee, thank you
Dr. David :

you are welcome

Dr. David :

I hope your knee gets better.
