I have found a pea sized lump on the inside of my labia minora.

Customer Question

I have found a pea sized lump on the inside of my labia minora. I noticed it two days ago due to a slight itch (it hasn't felt itchy since). It's red in appearance and slightly sore. I have been urinating more frequently and have been advised by my nurse that it is due to me being on the contraceptive pill. I don't know if there is a link? I have had the same partner for 7 years so I doubt it is an sti. I'm 27. I'm very concerned. Many thanks for you help in advance.

Dr. David :

This is Dr. David

Dr. David :

the pea size lump could be from a ingrown hair or a small cyst under the skin from a blocked skin pore.

Dr. David :

urinating more frequently can be from a bladder infection, you should get your urine checked with a urinalysis to check for bladder infection.

Dr. David :

sexual activity can force bacteria up into the urethra and cause a bladder infection which can cause frequent urination and burning and blood in the urine.

JACUSTOMER-v6ixm3h1- : Thank you for your reply, what treatment so I use?
Dr. David :

I would just watch the lump.

Dr. David :

but you have to see your doctor to get your urine checked.

Dr. David :

do you shave your pubic hair?

Dr. David :

this can increase chances of ingrown hair follicles.

Dr. David :

is the lump tender?

JACUSTOMER-v6ixm3h1- : I don't shave no
JACUSTOMER-v6ixm3h1- : it's slightly tender
