I have had very sensitive tongue for the last 6 months. Centre

Resolved Question:

I have had very sensitive tongue for the last 6 months. Centre of the tongue is red with what appears to be lines which look like cracks. Is there a treatment?.

Hello
It depends on the underlying cause.
You have to get that, and should see both your internist and dentist.
Such problems can be from
medications
overstimulation by dental procedures, too much brushing, mouthwash, etc.
Allergy
B vitamin deficiencies.
anxiety
heavy metals
liver or kidney problems
infections such as yeast
diabetes
and other problems
A full exam, routine labs, and specific labs as indicated are needed.
For example, if this is B vitamin deficiency, then the treatment would be replacement of b vitamins. and so on.
