Dr Uzair :

. Welcome to JustAnswer. I shall try my best to assist you while you are corresponding with me.

Dr Uzair :

Do you mean Haloperidol?

Dr Uzair :

Please enter chat and use reply to respond.

Customer :

I do yes sorry

Dr Uzair :

Can I ask exactly what you mean by "more spacey"?

Dr Uzair :

Do you mean dizziness, confused, sleepy?

Customer :

I basically feel at the moment really spaces out like in not here its like everything around me looks strange

Customer :

I had this before the medication aswell

Dr Uzair :

Alright, Haloperidol is known to cause hypotension or decreased blood pressure which can cause black outs, dizziness, fatigue, confusion.

Customer :

Ive had that checked was finr

Dr Uzair :

It can also cause sleepiness as well and cause people on it to feel confused and agitated.

Dr Uzair :

But since, you have had this feeling before being on the medication, there is a high chance that this is not due to the medication.

Customer :

What do you think it is?

Dr Uzair :

well, that requires a thorough history and a physical examination which is done on an office visit and exceeds the capability of this website.

Dr Uzair :

If you are seeing a Psychiatrist, then it is best that you get an appointment scheduled at the earliest to have this evaluated.

Customer :

Ive had all vital signs checked and my blood pressure, urine etc was all fine. They have said anxiety

Customer :

Could it be anything physical?

Dr Uzair :

It is unlikely to be physical since, you have received a clear bill of health from your doctor.

Dr Uzair :

Anxiety can cause all sorts of problems and feeling spaced out is one of them.

Dr Uzair :

But fortunately, anxiety can be treated and haloperidol has been prescribed anxiety.

Customer :

Im convinced im going to die the spaciness is so bad

Customer :

I just feel so weird 24/7

Dr Uzair :

That can be attributed to your anxiety however, if it is that bad, you should get in to see a doctor at the earliest.

Dr Uzair :

Just so anything physical is ruled out.

Customer :

Ive been today

Dr Uzair :

Alright, if your doctor has checked you thoroughly, then you need to relax and let the medication work.

Customer :

So do you think its defo anxiety? Im not going to die of this spaciness?

Dr Uzair :

I have never heard or seen anyone dying of spaciness.

Dr Uzair :

Rest assured.

Dr Uzair :

Do you have more queries?

Customer :

Would there be other symptoms if i was? I just feel so much like im not here its like im nearly unconscious

Dr Uzair :

I can not make assumptions over the internet, since your doctor has seen you today and ruled out everything organic and attributed this to anxiety I feel that you should trust that evaluation however, if you still feel as if there was something left out, you should go to the ER piece of mind.

Customer :

Ive felt like this 5 weeks somwthing would of happened by now if it was going to wouldnt it?

Dr Uzair :

I think this is your anxiety, it does not seem to be anything serious.

Dr Uzair :

My advise, relax and do not be overtly concerned about it.

Customer :

Ok ill try that. Its just really scary feeling like this thats all. I find it hard to believe anxiety could make me this ill

Dr Uzair :

Anxiety can cause such symptoms. Its going to be okay.

Dr Uzair :

See your psychiatrist soon.

Customer :

Ok thanks. Can i just check would blood tests, blood pressure, pulse rate, urine analysis. Would they have picked up anything serious?

Dr Uzair :

Yes, they would have.

Customer :

So theres no chance it could be then if they were all ok

Dr Uzair :

Yes.

Customer :

How can i reduce this spaciness and makr it feel a bit better till meds work

Dr Uzair :

Reduce your stress levels. Be in good company, keep yourself busy and well hydrated.

Customer :

Do you think this will go away?

Dr Uzair :

I think it should.

Dr Uzair :

If you have no more queries, please do leave a positive rating service.

Dr Uzair :

Best.

Customer :

Im scared im going to be stuck like this

Dr Uzair :

I'm afraid, you are repeating the same question, which I have answered.

Dr Uzair :

Do you want me to opt out if you feel that I am not being helpful?

Customer :

I know sorry im just scared

Customer :

You are being helpful im just trying to find anyway to feel better

Dr Uzair :

There is nothing to be scared of, you have normal labs and your doctor has told you this is not physical. The best course of action will be to schedule an appointment with your psychiatrist.

Dr Uzair :

Thinking about this and talking about it will make it worse.

Dr Uzair :

You need to get busy doing something that will take your mind of the symptoms.

Dr Uzair :

off*

Customer :

Will it? Ive got an appointment but is 4 weeks away earliest i can get.

Customer :

So you think i shouldnt keep talking about it?

Dr Uzair :

I am telling you it will. Yes, I think you need to put your mind off it.

Dr Uzair :

Other wise you're just going to get more stressed.

Dr Uzair :

And stress increases anxiety.

Dr Uzair :

Now, start doing something that will take your mind off this. I would suggest that you invite a friend over or go out.

Customer :

My partner has juzt

Customer :

Just come in but nothing i do seems to help

Dr Uzair :

Then go out.

Dr Uzair :

Please do leave a positive rating service.

Customer :

Im scared to go out tho coz im so out of it

Dr Uzair :

You should try.

Customer :

U think it will really help?

Dr Uzair :

Yes.

Dr Uzair :

I suppose all your queries have been answered. Please leave a positive rating.

Customer :

All i want is to feel a bit better so i can manage

What about reducing doses?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

I had the spaciness before tho? What is it?

Expert:  Dr. Phil, MD replied 2 years ago.
Before any medicines at all?
What is your diagnosis?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

Well i was on sertraline already but have been year.

Anxiety doc has said

Expert:  Dr. Phil, MD replied 2 years ago.
That's what I meant. Reduce sertraline. Its probably from that
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

Ive been on it a year tho and been fine

Do you think it could be a serious illness?

Expert:  Dr. Phil, MD replied 2 years ago.
No I doubt it
this is very common with sertraline and with anxiety
please don't forget a positive rating. I appreciate it
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

So what should i do? Been to docs today and they told me to keep up with dose

Like i said aswell been on year so cant be that

Expert:  Dr. Phil, MD replied 2 years ago.
side effects can come at any time
trust me on that.
I've seen it too many times
ask them to lower the dose to 50
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

So do you think ill be ok and wont die?

I just feel like im not on the planet and not living. Everyday is a blur

Expert:  Dr. Phil, MD replied 2 years ago.
Yes, I do think that you will NOT die
That is from the medicine. trust me on that.
ask to reduce the dose
please don't forget a positive. I appreciate it
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

Could it be the haliperidol making it worse?

Expert:  Dr. Phil, MD replied 2 years ago.
absolutely
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

Ive been on it a week, how long should this take to subside?

Expert:  Dr. Phil, MD replied 2 years ago.
It might take a few weeks.
maybe 4-6 in total
that would be reasonable
At this point, I would kindly ask positive rating.
I think you have been helped above and beyond the original question

Customer: replied 2 years ago.

Expert:  Dr. Phil, MD replied 2 years ago.
No, absolutely not
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

So its not going to help? They said it would.

I feel so so spaced out today i dont know where i am. How can this not be physical?

Expert:  Dr. Phil, MD replied 2 years ago.
It is related to the meds
I would ask that you open a new question or rate me again to continue
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

Ill rate you again. It cant be tho because i had this before going on meds?

I was on sertraline but 50g it is literally so bad now i cant function. I feel like im nearly dead am i.dying?

Expert:  Dr. Phil, MD replied 2 years ago.
no you are not dying
you do need off some of these meds though
I think it is the extra meds that is doing it
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

Is there any serious illness that appears in this way?

Im sitting on sofa now and its like im just not here at all. I feel so close to being dead.

Expert:  Dr. Phil, MD replied 2 years ago.
No, not likely
Weird things like MS can present like this but I doubt it
It seems med and anxiety related to me
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

Ive had so many blood tests all come back normal. Would it have shown up on them?

Is there any illness that could kill me immediately that would be like this?

Expert:  Dr. Phil, MD replied 2 years ago.
nothing from this will kill you
i'm sure of it
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

How can you be so sure?

Expert:  Dr. Phil, MD replied 2 years ago.
Because I'm a doctor and I have never heard of any condition that presents in "feeling spacey" that is lethal
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

But its so so extreme. I really think that im so close to.dying. i cant believe how spaced out i am... please help me to reduce this a bit

Expert:  Dr. Phil, MD replied 2 years ago.
You have to get off some of the meds
I can't help you with that.
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

My doctor has just increased them. How do you know its the meds?

Expert:  Dr. Phil, MD replied 2 years ago.
Because I have a ton of clinical experience.
I can tell when its the meds
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

Can they make you feel so out of it you dont know where you are? I really feel like this is it .

Why would my doctor increase it if its wrong to do?

Expert:  Dr. Phil, MD replied 2 years ago.
Yes, they absolutely do that. In fact, that is one of the most common side effects. This depersonalization feeling
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

Can you promise me i wont die from this? Im convinced its happening

Expert:  Dr. Phil, MD replied 2 years ago.
I promise you
I'm quite sure of it
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

Would it have came up on blood tests if something really wrong?

Expert:  Dr. Phil, MD replied 2 years ago.
yes, most likely
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

So not definitely?

Expert:  Dr. Phil, MD replied 2 years ago.
nothing is 100% in medicine
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

So there could be something very wrong?

Expert:  Dr. Phil, MD replied 2 years ago.
Very unlikely
that is the best response I can give you to that question
I'm sorry.
No one can say 100%
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

So if the tests didnt pick it up. What do you think this spacey feeling is if a physical illness?

Expert:  Dr. Phil, MD replied 2 years ago.
It is not a physical illness
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

Are you 100% sure? It really feels like it is to me?

Expert:  Dr. Phil, MD replied 2 years ago.
yes, as close as you can get to 100%
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

Will i get better?
