Hello
Bile is green.
This sounds more like stomach acid.
If you are having a recurrent problem, this needs to be investigated with testing.
If it was a one time deal, talk to your doctor about this.
OK, so that is an initial answer….

I have had a very strong cough for over a year. I do have asthma and COPD and diabetis - this cough shakes my bones - my doctor here in Ireland is trying everything but it still won't leave. Please help.

This an be from acid reflux. And is often not diagnosed.
Your doctor needs to also rule out ulcer, or gastritis.
He should treat you maximally for acid reflux to see if this treats the cough.
Using a proton pump inhibitor drug is the typical approach and might take a month or more to show effects.

That would be very consistent with acid reflux.
Addressing the reflux might indeed help the cough.
