I had a general aneasthetic 20th Dec 2014 ever since I Have been excessivly sleeping I am normally a very active person an still try an keep up some activety daily before my operation I was someone who hardly slept at all for several years before the operation is this normal as have slept for 24 hours on some occasions. My Gp is stumped they have done a recent blood test awaitng results but last year they did find I had b12 defiency an started injections recently.

you could have something called chronic fatigue syndrome.

Dr. David :

you might be having poor sleep and not getting into REM sleep when you do sleep.

Dr. David :

you could have bad sleep apnea which can affect your sleep.

Dr. David :

you might need a sleep study to see if you are getting into deep REM sleep properly when you do sleep.

there are treatments for sleep apnea and chronic fatigue syndrome

a panel now wants to call chronic fatigue syndrome a new name: systemic exertion intolerance disease
