I had a crown fitted on a molar tooth yesterday morning after

Resolved Question:

I had a crown fitted on a molar tooth yesterday morning after weeks of root canal work. Gradually increasing yesterday and now overnight I am in very considerable pain. The pain is not being resolved by the strong paramadol painkillers that dealt with all the previous quite severe toothache. Is this normal?

Hi there.
Thank you for your question.
I will be helping you out with your queries.
This is definitely not normal and you should be seen again for this.
Could possibly be an infection causing the severe toothache that you are having.
Let me know if you have more questions.

The tooth has been fine for about two weeks when the dentist took the impressions for the crown and covered the tooth with a temporary filling. Could an infection have set in so quickly?
Expert:  Dr. SH replied 2 years ago.
Yes an infection must be ruled out.

Sorry, one other thing. I am feeling a little disorientated and struggling to recall how many painkillers I have taken. I know that I have definitely been keeping at least 4 hours between, but because I needed them in the middle of the night I have a feeling that I might be up above the 8 in 24 hours if I take 2 more soon. I last took 2 just under 4 hour ago.

Each tablet contains 500mg paracetamol and 7.46 mg dihydrocodeine tartrate.

One odd extra pill would not matter too much.
So I would not worry at all.

So the dose of two should be OK? Even that barely keeps the pain acceptable.
Expert:  Dr. SH replied 2 years ago.
Yes the dose should be okay.
